Australia’s award-winning global music streaming and entertainment service, Guvera, has been shortlisted for a prestigious Asian app award by Group Special Mobile Association’s (GSMA) independent judging panel.

The awards are regarded as Asia’s most comprehensive and prestigious honours for the mobile sector.

Guvera made the shortlist from 160 entries across the dynamic Asian mobile ecosystem in the category of best mobile music app.

Guvera’s Director of Product Robb Snell, said that when it comes to entertainment on mobile, Guvera has a unique brand-funded offering that sets it apart from other streaming services.

“Guvera is a unique platform that powerfully combines brands, music, and consumers.”

Mr Snell said Guvera is focused on providing music through a brand-funded model where both music labels and artists are properly compensated for the work that they produce.

“Brands belong naturally on the platform and can tell their stories in a minimally disruptive way while our users are able to consume the content that they love,” said Mr Snell.

“The introduction of our culture-related music channels has created a more immersive entertainment experience for our users, where artist and brand stories are brought to life through all types of digital media including interviews, articles, photo galleries, videos and more.”

Guvera is one of 46 nominees that has been shortlisted for 10 awards across four categories including Best Mobile App, Connected Lifestyle, Best Mobile Devices and Outstanding Achievement.

The winner will be unveiled at an awards ceremony at Mobile World Congress in Shanghai later this month.

This is Guvera’s latest recognition following a number of nominations and awards including: Gold Winner of Entertainment Category in the [app] Design 100 Awards 2016, shortlisted for the 2016 Glomo Music App Award, awarded Best in Category for Mobile Apps – Entertainment in the Horizon Interactive Awards 2016, nominated for Best Streaming Audio in the 2016 Webby Awards, and finalist in the Music Category for MediaPost’s APPY Awards.
